Team Member Q&A: Crystal DeKoning

Today we wanted to shine a spotlight on one of our team members: Crystal DeKoning, our closing coordinator! Crystal is the reason our process from contract to closing day goes so smoothly. For both buyers and sellers, after one of our agents helps a client get an offer accepted, their file gets passed to Crystal. She has years of experience as a paralegal, which is very helpful in her current position. Crystal guides your transaction through the processes of inspections, appraisals, attorneys, mortgage brokers, timelines, and MORE! We appreciate all that Crystal does for our team - we don't know what we'd do without her!

Q: Where are you originally from?
A: I am from Midland, TX

Q: What's a fun fact about you?

A: I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

Q: How long have you lived on the Crystal Coast?

A: 12 years for the second time around!

Q: What brought you to the area?

A: My husband and the Coast Guard.

Q: Family?

A: I have 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 son-in-law, 2 grandsons, and a mother-in-law. Plus 2 labradors (a mother and son).

Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: I love to shop, boat, and decorate.

Q: What is your favorite book to read? Favorite author?

A: I love "Where the Crawdads Sing" and Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author!

Q: What is one of your proudest accomplishments?
A: My college degree and real estate license.

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: That would be Mexican food!

Q: What's the best place you've traveled to?
A: I went to Italy in 2018.

Q: Have you ever met anyone famous?
A: I met Reba McEntire and had a picture taken with her!

Q: What was your first paying job?

A: I worked at Dillard's department store.

Q: Where did you work before BGRE?
A: I worked as a paralegal at Mason & Mason, P.A.

Q: What's your favorite thing about your career?
A: My favorite is helping people.

Q: What motivates you to work hard?
A: Money makes me work hard. ;)

Q: How did you become involved in real estate?

A: I started in real estate in 1998 when the attorney hired me, so it has been 24 years!

Q: How long have you been working with BGRE?
A: It has been almost 7 years.

Q: What's one thing you'd want our followers to know about you?
A: I want them to know I will work hard to make everything move along smoothly.
