Team Member Q&A: Colleen Cruikshank

Today we wanted to shine a spotlight on one of our team members: Colleen Cruikshank, our diligent listing coordinator! Colleen is meticulous with her work and loves working with our sellers to display their home in the best possible light on the MLS. She is highly qualified and maintains her skills with regular education and classes! We couldn't do half of what we do without her expertise. 

Q: Where are you originally from?
A: I was born in Santa Ana, CA but I am a Marine kid! Teen years in Northern Virginia. Landed in Rhinebeck, NY where I got married and raised kids for 25 years.

Q: How long have you lived on the Crystal Coast?

A: Just over a year!

Q: What brought you to the Crystal Coast?

A: We moved here to be closer to family and create a more relaxed lifestyle than we were living in New York.

Q: What's your favorite thing to do the beach?

A: Walk!

Q: Family?

A: My husband, Gordon, and my daughters, Maeve and Summer

Q: Pets?

A: Dogs- Benny and Ollie, and a cat- Jet

Q: What are some of your hobbies?

A: Horses, bike riding, reading.

Q: What is your favorite family vacation?

A: It was always coming here, until I made it my home. In 2016 we made a trip to London, Scotland, and Ireland, which was amazing!

Q: What is one of your proudest accomplishments?

A: I was honored by my community a couple of years ago as the "Good Egg."

Q: What's your favorite game/sport to watch or play?

A: Equestrian sports.

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: Taco salad!

Q: Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

A: Saying a prayer.

Q: Early bird or night owl?

A: Night owl.

Q: What was your first paying job?

A: Cleaning horse stalls.

Q: What's a fun fact about you?

A: I once worked at the Central Intelligence Agency.

Q: What motivates you to work hard?

A: My desire to help people and help provide for my family.

Q: How did you become involved in real estate?

A: I have been thinking about it for several years and when we decided to move to NC, I decided to go for it! I got my license in January 2022.

Q: How did you become involved with BGRE?

A: Robby Baker (team leader of Keller Williams Crystal Coast) suggested Sharon and I talk.

Q: Describe BGRE in 3 words.

A: Welcoming, professional, knowledgeable.

Q: What's one thing you'd want our followers to know about you?

A: I'm here to help!

Q: What's a good piece of advice for both buyers and sellers?

A: Trust your broker!
